AdventHealth is looking for a dynamic, hardworking board-certified Family or Internal Medicine trained physician to work as a Medical Director.  Physician will join an existing inpatient practice affiliated with the Allopathic Family Medicine residency but will serve in a clinical only role.

Ideal candidate should possess:

  • Minimum two years clinical experience.
  • Leadership experience including areas such as medical staff leadership, department leadership, or quality and safety leadership highly preferred.
  • The Medical Director of the Internal Medicine Department is a key physician leadership role with primary responsibilities for creating excellence in quality, safety, patient experience, best practices, and productivity within the Internal Medicine group.
  • The Medical Director is responsible for supporting the recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers, developing, and supporting the Hospitalist Inpatient onboarding process and promoting and mentoring physician leadership within the team.
  • He/she will work with the Executive Medical Director to set the goals and objectives of the internal medicine department.

The Executive Medical Director of Pediatric Surgical Services (Surgeon in Chief) serves as the primary medical and administrative leader for pediatric surgical and proceduralist services, including pediatric surgical specialties and procedural programs, such as gastroenterology and dentistry. The role bridges high-level hospital administration, pediatric network, and direct clinical care, providing strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership across the perioperative continuum. Oversight includes but not exclusive to Pediatric Outpatient Procedures & Sedation (POPS), Pediatric Infusion Center (PIC), Pediatric Surgical Center (PSC), Post Acute Care Unit (PACU), Rapid In and Out (RIO), inpatient/ambulatory post-op.

This physician leader is accountable for excellence in patient care, surgical quality and safety, patient & family experience, education and scholarly activity, operational efficiency, fiscal stewardship, and program growth—all aligned with AdventHealth for Children’s mission, vision, values, and long-term strategy. The role maintains an active clinical practice, focuses on case management, and serves as the senior physician liaison to administration, anesthesia, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership 

  • Advise senior leadership on the operation, optimization, and allocation of pediatric surgical/procedural resources
  • Establish and enforce clinical practice guidelines, policies, evidence-based standards, and safety regulations
  • Participate in key hospital and network performance, quality, and operational governance committees
  • Partner in managing capital/operating budgets and allocating equipment and resources
  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate surgeons and staff; oversee credentialing and privileging
  • Drive development of high need pediatric surgical subspecialties

Financial Stewardship & Growth Strategy 

  • Accountable for financial performance of pediatric surgical service lines in partnership with finance and administrative leadership
  • Participate in annual budget development, capital planning
  • Evaluate business cases for new programs, technology, and service expansion
  • Lead strategic roles and initiatives to drive referral base and market presence

Quality Improvement & Patient Safety 

  • Oversee designated hospital and network pediatric surgical specialty programs
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) reviews, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes
  • Monitor patient outcomes and champion evidence-based changes where needed
  • Serve as the physician leader responsible for the accuracy and integrity of submitted surgical data
  • Ensure clinical databases are maintained and utilized to identify trends, gaps, and variation in care
  • Ensure compliance with DNV Accreditation and American College of Surgeons standards
  • Resolve patient care issues with risk management and legal
  • Accountable for achieving & sustaining defined quality, safety, and performance benchmarks

AdventHealth for Children at the Walt Disney Pavilion is seeking a dynamic and visionary Pediatric Neurology Medical Director to lead the strategic expansion of our Pediatric Neurology program. This role represents a unique opportunity to create a comprehensive, regionally recognized pediatric neurology program, while maintaining a meaningful clinical practice.

Clinical (0.8 FTE): Provide comprehensive pediatric neurology care across inpatient and outpatient settings, including participation in call coverage.

Administrative (0.2 FTE): Provide strategic and clinical leadership for the Pediatric Neurology program. Expand general pediatric neurology services and develop a comprehensive program, including growth of the pediatric epilepsy program in partnership with the adult epilepsy team. Build key subspecialty services, including neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, and neonatal neurology. Recruit, mentor, and support pediatric neurologists and APPs. Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and hospital-based teams to ensure seamless care across inpatient and outpatient settings. AdventHealth Medical Group and AdventHealth for Children is seeking a pediatric cardiology medical director to join our multi-disciplinary pediatric and adult congenital cardiology team. The cardiologist would work in an exciting and thriving program with the full AdventHealth healthcare system support (50+ hospitals across nine states including 30 in Florida). The physician would have the benefit of cross coverage for call and work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists and social workers. The role will be 0.8 FTE clinical and 0.2 FTE administrative (32 hours per month, not to exceed 384 per year).

Non-Invasive Cardiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, and Electrophysiologists encouraged to apply.

Requirements for the position: Board Certification in pediatric cardiology. Additional subspecialty board certification as applicable for sub-specialization. High caliber, quality focused, innovative physicians should apply. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Previous leadership in similar role is preferred.

Location: Daytona Beach, FL - Specialty: Neonatal - Perinatal Medicine

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic and energetic Neonatologist to join our team at AdventHealth Daytona Beach in association with AdventHealth for Children/Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando.  

The Neonatologist would be responsible for but not limited to covering the 16 bed NICU at AH Daytona along with participating in daily family centered rounding and attending high risk deliveries.  The schedule would consist of both restricted (8hrs of in-house coverage) and unrestricted call (call within a 20-30 min response time) resulting in approximately 15 shifts per month.

AdventHealth Daytona Beach has partnered with AdventHealth for Children with a vision to create and deliver high quality pediatric care elevating the local market and keeping kids close to home with a seamless connection to quaternary services.  We provide full coverage of pediatric hospitalists and neonatologists at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.  This close collaboration also provides the ability for full quaternary services as needed through our expansive network of AdventHealth for Children.

AdventHealth for Children Walt Disney Pavilion

As part of the AdventHealth Daytona Beach collaboration with the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children, patients will have the support of a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 pediatric ICU beds with a dedicated peds CICU, a 102 bed NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system.  We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes.  We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, the region’s only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017.  Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center totals over 23,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics.  Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida.

AdventHealth Cancer Institute (AHCI) based in Orlando, Florida, is looking for a dynamic physician to join our Neuro-Oncology program.  This neuro oncologist will help grow our program and manage neuro-oncology patients in our busy, high-volume practice (we have over 100 gliomas per year). The practice includes a dedicated social worker and dedicated chemotherapy nurse, with multiple satellites for chemo infusion at various locations.  AHCI also has a Gamma Knife, stereotactic radiosurgery, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy, and an extensive, statewide radiation oncology program, including a CNS-trained radiation oncologist.

  • Neurology Residency with Neuro-Oncology Fellowship or Hem/Onc boarded with Neuro-Oncology Fellowship (UCNS eligible or boarded)

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Neuroimmunology

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist specializing in Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for a System Medical Director position to join our growing, multidisciplinary team at the Orlando Innovation Tower. This position offers the opportunity to practice advanced, patient-centered neuroimmunology care within a large academic medical center and participate in clinical education and research initiatives.

The System Medical Director is responsible for providing direction for the development, clinical performance, and ongoing medical leadership of the Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis Program for the 17 AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division campuses & free standing Emergency Departments to achieve top quartile performance in the care of Program patients, innovative research that is publishable and business models that combine both evidence based medicine and patient care pathways that support efficient flow, reduction in costs and excellent patient outcomes. Additionally, the Medical Director works with all other AdventHealth System hospitals, as well as non-system hospitals as hospital transfers or consulting relationships and collaborations as they are built and developed.  The expectation is that the System Medical Director will work with the Neuroscience Institute (“NSI”) leadership to establish a realistic timeline to address Medical Director goals.
