Location: Winter Park, FL - Specialty: Pediatric, Hospitalist

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to provide inpatient pediatric and newborn care at our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The selected physician will join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality, family-centered care for newborns, pediatric patients, and their families across the continuum of hospitalization.

This position offers the opportunity to care for well newborns, late preterm infants, and neonates requiring Level II NICU services while working closely with obstetric, neonatal, emergency medicine, and pediatric subspecialty teams.

Summary:

  • Perform newborn assessments, admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning
  • Attendance at high-risk deliveries and C-Sections
  • Stabilization and management of newborns requiring respiratory support, phototherapy, IV fluids, etc.
  • Inpatient pediatric consultations and admissions
  • Newborn nursery coverage
  • Coordination of transfers to Level 4 NICU at AdventHealth for Children
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • You would work with our team of neonatologists and also have pediatric subspecialty support through our AdventHealth for Children at the Walt Disney Pavilion

Requirements:

  • Recent NICU experience preferred
  • proficiency with newborn resuscitation and stabilization
  • Procedure proficiency: intubations, resuscitation, and managing ventilators for short periods of time

General Summary:

The Pediatric APRN or Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs newborn admissions, consultations, follow-up care, and discharge planning.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests for newborn patients, including routine laboratory studies and imaging.
  • Provides education and counseling to newborn family members regarding the patient's condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
  • Monitors the newborn's clinical progress, evaluates response to treatment, and coordinates referrals to physicians or specialists as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent, high-quality newborn care and support.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program required. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Physician Assistant (PA-C) candidates with strong, relevant newborn clinical experience as an RN or PA will also be considered.
  • Previous experience as a Pediatric Hospitalist APRN or PA-C with a primary focus on newborn care is preferred.

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida APRN or PA-C license
  • Certification by Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or NCCPA
  • BLS, PALS, NRP certification

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic and energetic PRN pediatric hospitalists with a focus and interest for inpatient pediatric care to join our team at the Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando.

Position Details, but not limited to: 

  • Rotating with the other pediatric hospitalists providing in house coverage within our medical/surgical pediatric units 
  • Performing pediatric admissions to the dedicated Pediatric Units 
  • ED pediatric consults as needed and participate in daily family centered rounding 
  • Collaboration with Advanced Practice Providers on respective pediatric units 
  • The Pediatric Hospitalist Program is partnered with Graduate Medical Education, thus providing the opportunity to work with residents

AdventHealth for Children is looking for dynamic, innovative, and energetic PRN neonatologists at our units in Central Florida as we are continuing to grow and expand our services to better care for the children in our communities. The Neonatologist practice with AdventHealth Medical Group has dedicated teams of physicians that cover our campuses across Central Florida. Depending on the location, the schedule could include both restricted (in house) and unrestricted call (on call within the hospital’s required response time for emergencies).

Our Neonatologists are part of a larger group of neonatologists that are part of AdventHealth for Children Orlando. Our regional network includes a delivery volume of approximately 15,000 births per year. We have a dedicated Neonatal transport team and are supported by experienced Pediatric Subspecialists.

The new physician joining the group should be board certified in pediatrics and board certified/eligible through the Sub-Board of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is looking for a dynamic and energetic general pediatric neurologists to join a fast-growing multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience program to help further develop general and subspecialty neuroscience programs.

Currently, the pediatric neuroscience center at AdventHealth for Children has a level IV comprehensive epilepsy center, sleep center, multidisciplinary neurofibromatosis clinic, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex clinic, congenital neurosurgery clinic, and craniofacial clinic supported by a strong group of neuroradiologists and neuropsychologists. Our pediatric neurology program has a dedicated 8 bed epilepsy monitoring unit, as well as 5 dedicated outpatient EEG rooms, in addition to ambulatory EEGs. Diagnostic facility includes a state-of-art 3T MRIs, PET, SPECT, and MEG center.

Responsibilities of the new physician will include our comprehensive general neurology service in both inpatient and outpatient settings. There is a substantial opportunity to build subspecialty programs including, but not limited to (neuromuscular, neonatal, immunology, stroke, neurocutaneous syndrome, movement disorder, and spasticity).

The Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children is looking for a non-operative Pediatric Orthopedic Medicine Physician to join a new multispecialty practice located in Middleton, opening in quarter 4 of 2026. This new practice will provide needed access to families in the area who are currently traveling long distances for pediatric care. The physician will provide general orthopedic care which includes fracture care and sports medicine to support the community. Those who need surgical intervention will be referred to and seen by our orthopedic surgeons at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, FL.

AdventHealth for Children is looking for a fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join our team! We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic team player interested in growing our program in Central Florida.

AdventHealth is the largest hospital system in Florida, with a network of 30 hospitals in the state with only one children's hospital at the center. These 30 hospitals total around 23,000 births/year and refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando. The Pediatric Otolaryngology program was established 2024 and currently has two experienced, fellowship-trained pediatric ENTs and a 1:1 physician to APP support. A new state-of-the-art outpatient office with 11,000 sq ft of space and in-house Audiology, Speech Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Imaging, 3-D photography, and Conference room is under construction and slated to open in Q1/2026. The new facilities will help expand the Cochlear Implant, Microtia and Atresia, Head & Neck and Craniofacial programs, and accommodate any other Pediatric ENT sub-specialty interests, such as Voice and Swallowing disorders, Aerodigestive disorders, Vascular Anomalies.

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology. 
  • Board certification/eligibility through the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. 
  • Board certification/eligibility for subspecialty certification in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology.

AdventHealth for Children is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to join an established multidisciplinary team (1 MD, 1 APRN) dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered care for children with complex and life-limiting conditions. The practice is embedded in the Complex Care Clinic with AdventHealth for Children.

Opportunity Highlights

•    Primarily inpatient consultative role across CVICU, PICU, NICU, oncology, pediatrics, pediatric subspecialties, and MFM.
•    Average ~6 patients/day (mix of new consults and follow-ups, strong continuity of care)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates pregnant and postpartum women in triage, walk-in labor & delivery patients
  • Evaluates pregnant and postpartum women including managing all aspects of pre-natal visits
  • Educates women about different types of care available and encourages them to enhance their pregnancy by being involved.  
  • Orders, interprets and incorporates diagnostic tests, studies and lab values into the plan of care; evaluates effectiveness.
  • Formulates appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings.
  • Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines and privileges.
  • Serves as OB/GYN team member working closely with physicians and other staff to ensure healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
  • Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to privileges.
  • Emphasizes patient education, active participation, clear communication between the provider and the women, and an individualized health care experience.
  • Advocates birth education, natural childbirth, and the participation of the entire family.
  • Teaches patients about all aspects of an infant’s reaction to its environment including but not limited to breast feeding and bonding.  
  • Communicates and documents pertinent case information in a timely and thorough manner.
