The selected physician will join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality, family-centered care for newborns, pediatric patients, and their families across the continuum of hospitalization.

This position offers the opportunity to care for well newborns, late preterm infants, and neonates requiring Level II NICU services while working closely with obstetric, neonatal, emergency medicine, and pediatric subspecialty teams.

Summary:

• Perform newborn assessments, admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning
• Attendance at high-risk deliveries and C-Sections
• Stabilization and management of newborns requiring respiratory support, phototherapy, IV fluids, etc.
• Inpatient pediatric consultations and admissions
• Newborn nursery coverage
• Coordination of transfers to Level 4 NICU at AdventHealth for Children
• Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress

General Summary:

The Pediatric APRN or Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

Currently, the pediatric neuroscience center at AdventHealth for Children has a level IV comprehensive epilepsy center, sleep center, multidisciplinary neurofibromatosis clinic, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex clinic, congenital neurosurgery clinic, and craniofacial clinic supported by a strong group of neuroradiologists and neuropsychologists. Our pediatric neurology program has a dedicated 8 bed epilepsy monitoring unit, as well as 5 dedicated outpatient EEG rooms, in addition to ambulatory EEGs.
